A: The City provides a range of opportunities for young people to connect, create, chill and upskill across not just the Youth Service, though other areas in Canning also. From opportunities to drop-in and hang out at our multiple Youth Centres or register for a suite of creative and interesting workshops (think slam poetry series, career development hacks, learn to DJ sessions, skate, scooter & BMX jams and more), to booking our music studio to rehearse with your band/ learn an instrument or contribute your ideas and voice in our leadership project streams. Q: What support can you provide for specific issues young people might be facing (for example issues or concerns relating to homelessness, alcohol or other drugs, mental health, gender and identity, safety etc)

A: While our team of qualified Youth Workers are friendly, approachable and always ready to support young people where they are – we are also connected to some amazing people, specialists and support services and programs locally who are best placed to provide specific supports. If a young person needs more support or information than we are able to provide, we can walk alongside you to connect you to the kinds of information and support you might be looking for/ needing. Either way – we are here to make the journey less daunting or when you don’t know where to even start! Feel free to reach out to our Youth Team to find out more.
