Get involved and get creative with your neighbours and have some SKELE-FUN for Halloween!

Have you got some old yarn to weave some spider webs? Some cloth to make some SPOOK-TACULAR ghosts? Cardboard cut-outs of some FANG-TASTIC vampire bats? If you’ve got it HAUNT IT!

Decorate your letterbox re-using materials from around the house and garden…. or from compostable items such as pumpkins, leaves or sticks.

Dress up your letterbox Halloween sustainability challenge - Terms and Conditions

  1. Entry is open to all residents of the City of Canning.
  2. Decorated letterbox and photograph to be taken within the City of Canning.
  3. The competition commences Thursday 15 October 2020 and all entries must be submitted by 5pm Monday 2 November 2020.
  4. All entries must be submitted via email at
  5. Photographs submitted must be the entrant’s original work and must not have been obtained from a secondary source.
  6. If photographs contain images of children they must only be images of your own children/members of your family.
  7. All entries may appear on the City of Canning’s social media platforms.
  8. One entry per household.
  9. Only entries that clearly incorporate sustainable materials will be eligible to be shortlisted and go into the running for a prize.
  10. All entries should be accompanied with the following:
    1. A photograph of the dressed up letterbox which clearly demonstrates the use of sustainable materials.
    2. Whether the entrant consents for the City of Canning to retain their image for future promotional use (online, print or both).
  11. The entry with the most ‘likes’ on the City of Canning Facebook page - after the competition has closed – will be determined as the winner.
  12. The winner will be announced on the City of Canning’s media platforms and notified via phone or email shortly after the competition has closed.
