Calling all music lovers!
Lynwood Youth Centre - 11 Edgeware Street, Lynwood
Enjoy singing and playing music from around the world, with the WOWS Cultural Choir and Music Group that meets at on Thursdays from 7pm – 9pm at Lynwood Youth Centre.
Come along and share your voice and instrumental skills. You are welcome whether you are experienced or unexperienced, professional or not... as long as you love music.
You will be learning with our talented musical director, who can play 10 different instruments and has experience working with choirs, singers and musicians. We will be working towards performing at events, including holding our own music festival in 2022!
The group is hosted by Women of World Stage (though men can join in too!) and is supported by City of Canning.
First session free. Children aged 7+ welcome.

Noongar Language and Cultural Class for Adults

Take this fabulous opportunity to learn the beautiful language and culture of the Noongar people.
Continuing on from the success of the Noongar Language Classes in 2020 we are excited to announce that we shall be starting up classes again in 2021!
Classes are led by Marie Taylor, a Traditional Owner and Elder of Noongar Country.
Marie has a wealth of knowledge and is an emotive storyteller who brings the language of the Noongar people to life. The classes are designed to suit everyone from absolute beginners to people looking for an opportunity to practise and polish their Noongar language skills.
Anyone with a passion for languages, expanding their knowledge or connecting with local culture is invited to join these classes. This is an opportunity to learn the language of the first people of South Western Australia. You are welcome to attend these classes on an adhoc basis or attend each session throughout the year.
The classes will run from 10:00am at Cannington Library.

City of Canning Waste Transfer Station - 81 Ranford Road, Canning Vale
Turn trash into treasure! Pick up a bargain at our Reuse Market Open Day and rescue items from landfill.
You can find everything from the weird to the wonderful, starting from just 50c.
Open Days will run from 8am to 12pm on the third Saturday of every second month.
The market is managed by Workpower, an organisation that promotes employment for people with disability.
All proceeds will be used for the market’s ongoing operation and other community waste related initiatives.
