COVID-19 innovation in Vietnam

Vietnam was an early success story in the COVID-19 pandemic. Locking down quickly played a big part in minimising infections, but a fascinating part of the response in Vietnam is the way ordinary citizens have come up with innovative and entertaining ways to share information and keep the virus in check.

In the city of Danang, a local tech start-up worked with authorities to create an infection map to help people avoid hotspots. Robots have been given the job of disinfecting hospitals and public spaces, with models developed by a hospital and university students. Automatic hand-sanitiser dispensers have been assembled by school students, using commercially available parts.

And many people have written and shared their COVID-19 songs, most with a preventive message. See the full story here.
